AB Munis wants to bring your attention to a webinar series that Alberta Municipalities and the Rural Municipalities of Alberta are hosting to inform Albertans who might be interested in running for election this fall to serve on their local council. These sessions are designed to provide insight into what it’s like to serve on a municipal council, the time commitment involved, and key considerations before submitting nomination papers.
A component of this campaign is reaching folks who may want to run for council or want more information. We are hopeful that ARMAA would be willing to help promote these webinars to reach more Albertans and encourage those interested in participating in local government to run for office with a clear understanding of what the role entails.
Our webinars are tailored to different sizes and types of municipalities, but all are welcome to attend any webinar that fits their schedule. The webinar types are:
- Villages and Summer Villages
- Rural Municipal Districts and Counties
- Small to Midsize municipalities (villages, towns and cities under 20,000)
- Midsize to large municipalities (towns and cities over 20,000)

- The impact and rewards of serving your community
- Firsthand experiences from current municipal leaders
There will also be a Q&A session where you can ask questions and gain valuable insights into the experience of being a municipal elected official. Each webinar is catered to whether you live in a small village, town, county, or a city, but you are welcome to attend any webinar that fits your schedule.
