Fostering a Culture of Respect in Government

ARMAA was happy to be invited to an AB Munis working session that focused on fostering a culture of respect in local government and increasing diversity in elected officials.

While the purpose of the event was only to generate ideas, we find it encouraging that conversations like this are taking place. ARMAA can report that this topic has been a focal discussion for RMA as well (who was also represented at the AB Munis session) as Municipal Affairs. What comes from the discussion is yet to be seen, but that fact that this appears to be a priority for various municipal entities in Alberta is cause for some optimism on our part. We will keep the membership informed as this continues.
