Reporting to the Water Act Approvals Team Lead, the Water Administrative Technologist works under
the authority of the Water Act processing applications, preparing authorizations and responding to
inquiries to ensure proposed activities and diversions are carried out in an environmentally responsible
and sustainable manner.

REQUIREMENTS
 2-year diploma in Civil, water resources or an environmentally related discipline.
 Minimum of 4 years of related experience, or equivalent.
 Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for
1 year of experience, or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

ASSETS
Knowledge of:
 The Water Act legislation, regulation, Codes of Practice, policies and guidelines.
 Water Act Application process for acquiring approval/license.

 Analytical thinking and problem solving
 Computer Skills

Candidates who do not meet the educational and experience requirements may be considered at
lower classification and salary.

Relocation Allowances: Are available for those that will relocate to Grande Prairie for this position.
