- Municipal Affairs is reviewing the Municipal Government Act (MGA) requirements for Intermunicipal Collaboration Frameworks (ICFs).
- Municipalities are invited to participate in a 15-20 minute survey to help ensure future legislative changes consider the needs of Alberta’s municipalities.
- The survey is available at extranet.gov.ab.ca/opinio6//s?s=ICFReview and should take 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
- The survey is available until April 12, 2024.
- In-person discussion sessions were also held during the RMA Spring Convention and ABMunis Spring Municipal Leaders’ Caucus in March 2024, focusing on practical implementation considerations. Municipalities that were involved in arbitration related to their ICFs are also invited to participate in virtual discussions being held April 10 and 19th.

- The Spring sessions for the Municipal Affairs Administrators’ Training Initiative (MAATI) are open for registration!
- In-person sessions are happening in Lethbridge on April 16th, and Cochrane on April 17th.
- Virtual sessions will again be offered, with sessions occurring between April 18 and May 17.
