APTEA is looking for administrative and/or special project support for the APTEA board of Directors. Administrative, Professional and Technical Employees Association (APTEA) is a not-for profit association registered in the Province of Alberta made up of City of Calgary employees that are management exempt. It has existed for 73 years. There are up to 9 elected board members (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and 5 Directors at Large). We currently have a full active executive board. There are approximately 450 members (420 active members, 15 retired/lifetime members, 15 onhold/leave members) with membership being optional for all exempt City employees (approximately 2,500 exempt employees).

Location: Calgary/ Work could be completed remotely with expected attendance (remote optional) at 12 board meeting a year, and the annual general meeting (in person)

• Attend board meetings and prepare agenda (12 per year)
• Communication support (updating website, answer member emails, administration of member benefit – BOOM Group, emails about events/AGM)
• Intake of new members (receive form, provide deduction information to City payroll, add new member to lists, and welcome email)
• Annual AGM coordination (present location options to board, catering, registration, audio visual coordination)
• Assist onboard new executive board members
• Liaise with corporation on membership changes monthly
• Maintain/Submit Alberta not-for-profit annual registration

• Accounting services – books managed by board treasurer
  • The association receives funds from The City of Calgary of $4 per member per paycheck
