Administrator Position at The Rural Municipality of Kindersley No. 290

The Rural Municipality of Kindersley No. 290 is currently accepting applications for an Administrator due to the retirement of the current Administrator. The Rural Municipality of Kindersley No. 290 is situated in southwest Saskatchewan. It is a prosperous municipality that is rooted in agriculture with a thriving oil and gas industry. It has a population of 1,003 and encompasses 24 townships including 4 unorganized hamlets. Situated in the centre of the municipality is the Town of Kindersley. The Town of Kindersley is a vibrant and progressive hub of West Central Saskatchewan with a population of approximately 5,000 people, offering the tranquility of a rural lifestyle with all the amenities of a small city. The RM works together with the Town of Kindersley to provide recreation facilities including an indoor aquatic centre, along with the West Central Events Centre which provides for indoor ice hockey and curling arenas. The municipality is also involved with the town to provide a state-of-the-art fire hall with trained fire fighters with the most up-to-date fire fighting equipment. The Town of Kindersley also has several outdoor hockey arenas and ball diamonds, green spaces and playgrounds. Recently developed is the new Beach area at the Motherwell Reservoir for summer enjoyment. There is also an active cultural community along with an Arts Council providing for a variety of concerts and events throughout the year. Being supported by a full-time Administrative Assistant as well as a part-time receptionist, the successful candidate will be responsible to work closely with the Reeve and Council and will be responsible for managing the constantly changing and increasingly complex day-to-day affairs of this thriving rural municipality.

Administrator applicants must have the following qualifications:

– Certificate in Local Government Administration or equivalent
– Rural Class “A” or Superior “A” certificate
– Experience with MuniSoft software including the Tax Roll, General Ledger, Municipal
Hail, Accounts Payable and PubWorks program
– Strong communication, management, organizational and inter-personal skills
– Experience with financial planning and asset management
– Must be bondable

The Rural Municipality of Kindersley No. 290 offers a competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package including extended health and dental benefits, short-term and long-term
disability. Salary is to be determined based on experience. Position to begin July 2, 2024 with office orientation for the month of July. Administrator is retiring as of July 31, 2024.
